Daily courses of instantaneous leaf (CO2 and H2O)
gas exchange was measured in the field for a
handful of native sand grassland xerophytes near
the village Bugac, Kiskunság National Park,
Central Hungary. For the dominant grasses and
dicots leaf transpiration rate, net photosynthetic
rate, instataneous photosynthetic water use
efficiency, and several associated parameters were
obtained in this way. Measurements were conducted
in spring and early summer (least water
limitation) and in midsummer (drought stress) from
7 am to 7 pm in every other hour with 5 replicate
samples per species. The database presents these
daily course data for several days in 1991-1993.
